We met at scenic Fort Mason, in San Francisco, on Friday July 18. This turned out to be a great location for a one-day event, with comforatble and unintimidating military barracks decor. We decided on the name Presidio at the meeting, in part because Fort Mason is near the Presidio, and adjacent to Crissy Field, which is part of the Presidio of San Francisco and the site of an important early airfield used by our sponsors (the US Air Force).

 

At the meeting, each of us presented a few slides, in a form that invited questions and discussion. The slides collected here show some of our interests, but are not intended to serve as a project overview, vision or plan. Our next group event will be the Sept 12 MURI Kickoff Meeting at UMBC in Maryland.
